Got a non-violent cannabis conviction
twenty-two years was never my prediction
I did fifteen, I’m back on violation
I’ll soon be home in my own accommodation

I don’t know much about the new administration
They say cannabis reform is in their conversations
waited fifteen years for any laws to change
Seventeen years later, the schedule is still the same

Who do we call? Congress the Pope
One thing for certain: we must never lose hope
short-timers and lifers, we’re all doing time
for that pretty green plant that eases the mind

If you don’t have the money, you will never get your way
You can sit and want, and wish all-day
Only the rich survive in this world we’re living in
If any laws change, they will change them back again
